EuroFix Acrylic Primer

Deep-penetrating acrylic primer that stabilises dusty surfaces and controls suction before bonding, rendering and painting

ClassificationAcrylic copolymer penetrating primer
ColourMilky, dries clear
VOC CompliantM1 Indoor AirISO 9001

Description

A water-based, deep-penetrating acrylic primer based on a fine-particle acrylic copolymer that penetrates deep into porous and dusty surfaces, stabilising them, binding loose particles and regulating water suction. It is an essential preparation step that ensures the success of subsequent adhesive, render and paint layers on cementitious, gypsum and block substrates. Low-emission (M1) and compliant with indoor-air-quality requirements.

Fields of Application

  • Stabilising dusty cement and gypsum before render and paint
  • Controlling suction of highly porous surfaces before bonding
  • Improving adhesion of tile adhesive, render and paints
  • Treating old, weak surfaces before refurbishment
  • Absorbent interior and exterior surfaces

Surface Preparation

  • Clean the surface of dust, dirt, oils and loose paint residues.
  • Remove weak or crumbling sections before application.
  • Ensure the surface is fully dry before priming.

Application Method

  1. Shake the product well before use and apply undiluted.
  2. Apply one even coat by brush, roller or spray until the surface is saturated.
  3. Treat highly absorbent surfaces with two coats where required.
  4. Allow 2–4 hours to dry before applying the next layer.

Consumption

UseRate
Medium-absorption surfaces≈ 10–12 m²/L
Highly absorbent surfaces≈ 8 m²/L
General coverage8–12 m²/L by substrate

Comparison vs. Ordinary Site Mix

CriterionOrdinary MixEuroFix
Dust binding No primer: dust layer blocks bond Binds dust and consolidates particles
Suction control Substrate pulls water from adhesive/paint Balances suction for proper curing
vs diluted PVA glue Forms a film that may delaminate Penetrates and binds without a barrier film
Strength of next layer Weak, inconsistent adhesion Boosts adhesive and paint adhesion
Emissions & odour Some alternatives have strong odour Low-emission (M1)

Consumption & Cost

Primer costs very little compared with what it protects; one litre covers 8–12 m² and costs a fraction of the adhesive or paint applied over it. Skipping primer on a dusty or highly absorbent surface means the substrate pulls water out of the adhesive or paint before it cures, producing weak bond, peeling and hollowing that force the whole job to be stripped and redone. This simple preparation step prevents costly failure and ensures every subsequent layer bonds properly the first time.

Packaging

5 L and 10 L bucket

Storage & Shelf Life

Store in original sealed containers between +5°C and +35°C, away from direct sunlight and frost. Shelf life 12 months.

Safety

Non-toxic and non-flammable. Wash tools with water immediately after use. Avoid eye contact; if it occurs, rinse with clean water. Keep out of reach of children.
