EuroFix Pool & Spa S1
Highly deformable cementitious adhesive, permanently submersible, for pools, tanks and underfloor heating
Description
A high-performance, highly deformable C2TE S1 cementitious tile adhesive engineered specifically for permanently submerged and wet environments such as swimming pools, water tanks, steam rooms and underfloor-heated floors. It combines extended open time (E), reduced slip (T) and S1 deformability that absorbs the thermal movement of hot and cold water without cracking or leaking — conditions where ordinary mortars fail completely underwater.
Fields of Application
- Swimming pools, plunge pools and fountains
- Water tanks and permanently submerged basins
- Steam rooms, saunas and high-humidity areas
- Underfloor-heated floors
- Porcelain and glass mosaic in wet environments

Surface Preparation
- The substrate must be sound, waterproofed, level and free of dust and oils.
- Apply EuroFix flexible waterproof membrane before tiling pools and tanks.
- Allow the waterproof membrane to cure fully before tiling.
- Prime highly absorbent surfaces with EuroFix Acrylic Primer.
Application Method
- Add the powder gradually to clean water and mix with a slow drill until a lump-free paste forms.
- Let the mix rest 5 minutes to mature, then re-stir before use.
- Spread with the flat side, then comb with the notched side suited to the tile size.
- Double-buttering (substrate + tile back) is mandatory in submerged areas to ensure 100% coverage.
- Place the tile and press with a sliding motion to expel air and ensure full contact.
- Allow the pool to cure 7–14 days before filling with water.
Consumption
| Use | Rate |
|---|---|
| 8 mm notch — mosaic/medium tiles | ≈ 3.5 kg/m² |
| 10 mm notch — large tiles | ≈ 4.5 kg/m² |
| Double-buttering — submerged areas | 6–8 kg/m² |
Comparison vs. Ordinary Site Mix
| Criterion | Ordinary Mix | EuroFix |
|---|---|---|
| Underwater performance | Disintegrates, absorbs and leaks | Permanently submersible, stable |
| Thermal flexibility | Rigid, cracks with water-temp swings | S1 flexible, absorbs expansion |
| Bond strength | 0.3–0.5 N/mm², collapses when wet | ≥ 1.0 N/mm², stable when wet |
| Frost resistance | Spalls under freeze cycles | Resists freeze–thaw cycles |
| Underfloor heating | Hollows and detaches with movement | Designed for thermal movement |
| Leak risk | High — costly leaks | Very low with waterproofing |
Consumption & Cost
In pools, tanks and permanently submerged areas there is no cost debate, because ordinary site mortar simply fails underwater: it absorbs, disintegrates and loses bond, so tiles hollow and fall and leaks begin — leaks that mean draining the pool, breaking out the tiling, re-waterproofing and starting over. EuroFix S1 is not merely a better option but the only reliable solution for these environments; its S1 deformability absorbs the thermal movement of hot–cold water cycles, and permanent submersibility guarantees years of leak-free service. Its small price premium is negligible against the cost of rebuilding a leaking pool.
Packaging
25 kg paper bag — 48 bags per pallet
Storage & Shelf Life
Store in original sealed bags in a dry place, raised off the ground on wooden pallets. Shelf life 12 months from the production date printed on the packaging.
Safety
Contains cement which reacts alkaline with moisture. Wear protective gloves and goggles. On eye contact, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical advice. Keep out of reach of children.
