Facade cladding failure is a life-safety issue. A 60×60cm natural stone panel falling from the 20th floor reaches a velocity of over 80 km/h, with catastrophic consequences. Proper adhesive specification, combined with mechanical restraints, is non-negotiable for high-rise cladding.

Wind Load Calculations

At 30m height in a typical urban environment (EN 1991-1-4, terrain category III), peak wind suction pressures can reach 1.8–2.4 kN/m². A C2TE adhesive with tensile adhesion of 1.0 N/mm² provides theoretical resistance of 1,000 kN/m² at 100% contact. However, practical contact ratios are typically 60-80%, and a safety factor of 3.0 must be applied.

Minimum specification: C2TE S1 adhesive + double buttering technique + mechanical fixing (restraint clips or undercut anchors) for tiles above 15m height or weighing more than 40 kg/m².
