Building-materials equivalents guide

This guide places EuroFix products beside the product types that other manufacturers publish in the same standard class, for example EN 12004 C2TE S1 tile adhesive or EN 1504-3 R3 repair mortar. Each figure is taken from the maker's own public data sheet, linked with the date it was read; where a data sheet is silent, the cell says so. It is a reference for specifiers and merchants.

How we compared

Products are grouped by the standard class they declare (for example EN 12004 C2TE S1). Each competitor figure is copied from that manufacturer's own public technical data sheet or official product page, linked in the column header with the date it was read. Figures are shown as published: test conditions, market versions and editions differ, so a number points to the data sheet; it does not prove equivalence. Where a data sheet is silent the cell says so, and nothing is estimated. EuroFix figures come from the EuroFix data sheets on this site. The guide contains no ratings, scores, rankings or verdicts.

Trademarks

All product names and brands are trademarks of their respective owners; EuroFix is not affiliated with or endorsed by any of them. Listing a product here does not mean it can replace another on site: check the data sheet, the declared class and the substrate before substituting.

Frequently asked questions

What is the EuroFix building-materials equivalents guide?

A reference that places EuroFix tile adhesives, mortars, insulation-system mortars, waterproofing, primers and paints beside the product types that other manufacturers publish in the same standard class, for example EN 12004 C2TE S1. Every competitor figure links to that manufacturer's own data sheet with the date it was read.

Does "equivalent" mean I can swap one product for another?

No. It means the products declare the same kind of standard class. Before substituting, compare the full data sheets, the substrate, the tile or board and the climate, and ask the manufacturer. The numbers are as published and were measured under each manufacturer's own conditions.

Which standards group the products?

EN 12004 for tile adhesives (C1T, C2TE S1, C2TE S2), EN 998-2 for masonry mortar, EN 1504-3 for structural repair mortar (class R3), EN 13813 for self-levelling underlayments, EN 998-1 and ETAG 004 for insulation-system adhesive and base coat, EN 14891 for waterproofing under tiles, and EN 13300 and EN 1062 for interior and exterior paints.

Why do some cells say a figure is not stated?

Because the linked data sheet does not give it. We leave the cell as it is rather than estimate, and the page lists the gaps. If you hold a newer data sheet, send it to us and the figure can be added.

Which manufacturers are compared, and which are missing?

Compared: Sika, Ceresit (Henkel), Isomat, Bostik, Ardex, Kiilto, Anserglob, Caparol, Eskaro, AkzoNobel (Dulux). Not in this edition: Mapei, Weber (Saint-Gobain), Knauf, Knauf Insulation, Isover, Jotun; their data sheets could not be read for this review, and they will be added once their sheets are checked.

Does EuroFix rate or rank other brands?

No. The guide has no ratings, scores, stars or verdicts, only standards and published figures with their sources.
